The Fucecchio Marshes (Padule di Fucecchio) is the largest Italian inland marsh which lies between the provinces of Firenze and Pisa and is a natural reserve under the management of the Centre of Research, Promotion and Documentation.
Departing from Ponte Buggianese, the tour proceeds to the Padule di Fucecchio and up to the hamlet of Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci.
All visitors are surprised and fascinated by this extraordinary countryside with its ancient flora where you can spot the hiding animals or birds resting on their migratory route between the Tyrrhenian coast and the hinterland.
The best way to enjoy this wildlife is by visiting the Padule di Fucecchio on your bicycle!
Vinci is situated on the slopes of the Montalbano, very close to the Padule di Fucecchio. This antique village, where Leonardo da Vinci was born and where tourists from Italy and all over the world come to visit the local Museum and his birthplace, lies among the vineyards and olive groves covering the surrounding hills.
